Harold D. Harsy

	Harold D. Harsy, 50, of Murphysboro, passed away Monday, December 24, 2001 at 9:10 a.m. at his residence.
	Mr. Harsy was a farmer and a heavy equipment operator with L.W. Construction, Collinsville.  He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro.  He was also a member of the Operating Engineers Local #520 of Granite City, Jackson County Farm Bureau and the Elks Lodge of Murphysboro.
	He was born March 10, 1951 at DuQuoin, the son of Robert D. and Matilda (Valerius) Harsy.  He married Nancy VanCloostere on April 16, 1971 in Murphysboro.
	Surviving are his wife, Nancy Harsy; his mother, Matilda Harsy of DuQuoin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron and Holly Harsy of Bloomington and Aric and Rhonda Harsy of Murphysboro; three grandchildren, Michael Sapen Harsy of Bloomington, Brayden chase Harsy of Bloomington and Taryn Laine Harsy of Murphysboro; four brothers, Robert E. Harsy of DuQuoin, Jerry D. Harsy of DuQuoin; Bernard L. Harsy of DuQuoin and David Harsy of DuQuoin; three sisters, Donna Wright of DuQuoin, Diana Hodges of Corpus Christi, Texas and doris Kern of DuQuoin; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Lana Williams and Richard Williams of Millstadt and Roberta Sytsma and John Sytsma of Murphysboro.
	He was preceded in death by his father and his father-in-law, Robert E. VanCloostere.
	There was a Celebration of His Life Services at the Elks Lodge in Murphysboro on Thursday, December 27 at 1 p.m. .  His body had been cremated and Pettett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
	Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. or to St. Andrews Church or School in Murphysboro.
